I had a studio weekend at Studio Hire Plymouth last weekend and it was very enjoyable and I would happily go back again!
The studio is a good space, plenty of room, different backdrops, equipment etc. - All you need for your shooting experience.
The studio is clean and tidy which makes you feel comfortable straight away. The dressing room is great, big space, great big mirrors and nice and warm too :)
The guys at the studio are lovely, they made me feel welcome straight away and helped each photographer when they needed it but also respected the photographer's shooting space.
I will return in the summer for sure, and I would happily recommend this studio to any touring model or photographer in Plymouth, get in touch.

I have regularly been using this studio for approximately 18 Months. After a number of years shooting weddings and family/lifestyle, I decided it was time to indulge myself in some further learning with view to mastering some new skills in portraiture and studio lighting, of which I had little prior experience.
The studio itself has a favourable location very close to Plymouth City Centre in a busy shopping area which is handy for food and drinks (there is also a Costa Coffee within 50 yards, important to some more than others but worthy of a mention).
It has proved to be the perfect learning environment, spacious, tidy and extremely well equipped. The coloured paper backdrops can be quickly lowered into position without fuss. There are a number of flash-heads which are serviced by ample power points so the positioning of the studio lights never presents a problem. There are also plenty of light modifiers of various types and sizes. One of my favourite pieces of studio equipment is the highly portable parallel boom which opens up a number of lighting options not possible with a traditional light stand (You can position a light source directly above your subject).
The studio benefits from a spacious beauty room which can also be used as a private changing area. The room is well lit and ideal for use by makeup artists and hair stylists. The hourly rates are highly competitive and in my mind, you get a lot of bang for your buck. In view of this, I can highly recommend booking this studio to any photographer, whether new or established.

I have visited the studio a couple of times now. It is a great environment to work in, having everything you need for a shoot, the infinity wall is awesome and the changing room is perfect - love the beauty lights and large mirrors.
You will never be cold at Studio Hire Plymouth, with tea and coffee on the go, music playing, plenty of space and suitable equipment, I cannot think of any negatives or faults - I would give this studio 5 stars!
Already looking forward to coming back to the studio. Highly recommended!

I've hired the studio on many occasions when I'm shooting models in the Plymouth area who are unable to travel to where I am based. The staff are very accommodating and helpful in general. The studio is well kitted out with good quality equipment, lights and an infinity curve, which is great for any set up required.
It is in a good location making it easy to find for my models. With great rental rates and the flexibility to book it for full days or only an hour or two, the studio is suitable for all.

I was introduced to the studio a year ago and haven't looked back.
Not only is the studio itself a good size, it also hosts all the lighting, backdrops, soft boxes, beauty dishes, triggers etc that you are likely to need. There is always someone on hand to help should you need it and part with their knowledge and expertise.
One of the major advantages of this studio is the large room available to clients for changing, hair/make-up etc, something that not many studios can boast.
The hire rates are extremely good and I think you'll find it hard for anywhere else to compete with prices or service. I will certainly be continuing to hire it for all of my shoots.

I have rented this studio in both an hourly and daily capacity. For me, there were a few studios to choose from within Plymouth that had potential to be decent for what I needed. However, the rates were reasonable and it was along a main travel route for both myself and clients.
It is great from a business point of view, as the studio is laid out to make sure it looks like you are fully functioning from that space. Making sure you come across as professional. Fully kitted studio with staff always on hand to help or deal with any issues.

I began my studio career here, in this very spacious unit with plenty of room to enable you to experiment with your creative ideas. It is located centrally in Plymouth with ample parking in the area. Also available is a superb room for your creative team to get models ready with hair, make-up and styling.
On a number of shoots I have benefited from the experience and knowledge of the staff about how to use a studio effectively. They have equipped the studio with all the essentials for creating the perfect lighting for your images.
It is very important to me that my clients have a great experience when they come to shoot with me. The studio caters so well for this with a top-rate sound system throughout and refreshment facilities over and above anything available elsewhere.
If you are considering hiring a clean and well equipped professional studio at amazing rates I would not hesitate to recommend this one.

Having owned my own studio, I understand the feeling of wasting money when you're paying rent, rates, etc. even when you're not shooting.
This is the great advantage of hiring by the hour. You only pay for the facility when you need it. Add to that, walking into a well-maintained, fully equipped studio, with separate beauty room and changing facilities, and you're on to a winner!
The studio itself is a fair size, over 30 square metres (with a high ceiling), and is very versatile. A healthy selection of backdrops, strobes, modifiers (softboxes, beauty dishes, snoots, grids etc.), gels, triggers, leads and stands (including a boom and a product table) are available, with plenty of electrical sockets hidden around the room.
The beauty room is a great addition. It is a decent size, well-lit room, with ample work surfaces for make-up artists/stylists to set up, full-length mirrors and a private changing area. Again, there are a multitude of sockets.
This brings me to my final point. You don't have to be a pro level photographer to make your foray into shooting in a studio. One of the staff will always be on hand to assist, should you need it.
I can't recommend this studio highly enough. A professional facility, run professionally, at affordable rates, when you need it.

I've used this studio many times to film my make up tutorials, the studio is a fantastic size, has plenty of lighting equipment and is always maintained to a high standard.
There is always help on hand when I need it, and the rates are very reasonable.

Having used this space from its beginnings nearly 4 years ago, I can highly recommend it to others. From the amount of hours put into its creation and up-keep, to the investments in lighting equipment and modifiers, it is truly a fantastic space to work from.
The separate prep room and office benefit from lots of natural light, ample room to set up whatever you need and have plenty of room left for composing the shoot around the hustle of a prep team.
Kitchen and bathroom facilities are available within the building for everybody's comfort during long shoots...you really can not go wrong!!!

I've always found this studio to have exactly what I need and always in great working order.
I have been fortunate enough to hire the studio on occasions when the knowledgable staff have been there and they have always offered me help setting up and getting the most out of a shoot before giving me some privacy.
It is clear that they care about the studio, equipment, and most importantly their customers.

I was looking into a few studios around Plymouth to start my studio experience. I booked a day slot which was very straight forward and with great communication. Throughout this day we had lots of room inside and a separate changing area for the models to prepare. Help was on hand should I of needed it as I was a little unsure with the lighting rigs and was not disturbed at all throughout the day ( a massive off-put if you have random people walking in and out) but everything was extremely professional!
Because of this, I made it a regular occurrence shooting here at Studio Hire Plymouth as I knew what to expect and the rates were fantastic. All my subjects have loved coming into the studio and I have captured some of my best work due to the quality of equipment supplied from within the studio.
If you are looking to capture some of your best work, I urge you to book in now and you will not be disappointed!! I Cannot wait for the next shoot!!!

The staff's communication was good with quick replies to my booking enquiry, they also opened up and set up the lights for me initially.
Good high ceilings, the cove was my backdrop this time, but there are coloured backdrops available as well, and great rates!!
