Photography residencies are something that we have offered at Studio Hire Plymouth since the day we opened our doors, but we are now pleased to offer an introductory price for this service so you can make sure that it's a good fit for you!

What do we have?
This is, without a doubt, the best equipped studio available for hire in the area, with a great shooting space, dedicated make-up room and an equipment list to rival most lighting manufacturers! We have a *slightly* overkill Dolby Atmos sound system and great facilities throughout to make your time in the studio as comfortable as possible.

Studio residencies are perfect for photographers of all experience levels, whether you're a hobbyist, a full time professional or somewhere in between.
Amateurs / hobbyists
No more clock-watching! Book as many hours as you need without the fear of having to cut a great shoot short. Book in some hours to practice your lighting set-ups on our glamorous mannequin! Having that flexibility is the fastest way to improve your skills and get some great images for your portfolio.
Professionals
Bring your clients to a clean and well presented studio. Whether you photograph babies, products or eCommerce - the studio has pro level equipment to make your job simple and keep your images consistent. Our IGBT studio flashes can fire at up to 10FPS with great colour accuracy, short flash durations and remote power control.
The Terms
Price
The studio residency is already great value at just £180 per calendar month. But with our introductory deal that drops to half price at just £90!
Commitment
We don't like the idea of binding you to long contracts, so the only thing we ask is that you commit to a 3 month trial at our introductory rate, after which you will move on to a 1 month rolling contract at the regular rate - no long term obligations.
If you would like to end your residency at any point, we ask for one month end-of-month notice, eg. Handing in your notice on February 5th would mean that your residency would run till the end of the March calendar month.
Payment
Our monthly residency fees are paid in advance on the 1st of each month by standing order.
Who is it for?
The residency offer is very much for individuals rather than companies. Sole traders are of course welcome - but it's not designed to be shared between several people. We offer huge 50% discounts on our normal hourly rates if you would like to bring friends or colleagues in to use your residency time, please let us know if you'd like more information.
Some other information...
Our studio has always been a social hub for creativity, with photographers coming and going over the years - always leaving with new skills and making great friends along the way.
We love to see our residents improving their photography, and we aim to help wherever possible. For our professional photographers that also means work referrals for jobs that we can't handle ourselves, or that don't fall in to our wheelhouse.
